New Delhi: After the Jahangirpuri violence in the national capital, nine bulldozers of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) got down to the ground in Jahangirpuri in the morning itself to demolish the illegal construction. This is the biggest ever operation to demolish illegal constructions. The atmosphere was tense and there was a danger of deteriorating law and order, but there were tight security arrangements on the footpaths. In this action of the bulldozer, the shop of one Raman Jha here was first demolished. Raman says he has been running a paan shop at the same place since 1985. Together, they also do pooja and they also perform puja-recitation at people's homes. In the morning, when the number of MCD staff and police force increased in the area, he asked them if their shop would also be demolished.
Raman Jha said, "MCD staff told him that his shop was not in danger, but as soon as the bulldozer came, his shop was first demolished." Along with him, his wife was also busy distributing the goods, but Raman's concern is that the shop from which he used to earn Rs 5,000 per month has now closed its source of income. The shop is completely broken. Some of the goods were able to be removed by the couple, but a lot of goods have been damaged and the worry of how the shop will be set up again is also bothering them.
Let me tell you that the MCD had landed on the front today with full intention. There was all preparation to free Jahangirpuri from illegal construction. One by one the bulldozers moved forward. The process of demolishing the encroachment began. But the bulldozers of the municipal administration could not get much time. 85 minutes later, the Supreme Court's order came. The top court ordered to maintain the status quo and the North MCD mayor, who was present at the spot, directed the bulldozer brigade to stop taking action.
