New Delhi: Hanuman Janmotsav has been celebrated with full enthusiasm yesterday, i.e., Thursday (April 6), amid tight security across the country. At the same time, in the Jahangirpuri area of the national capital, Delhi, permission was given to take out the Hanuman Janmotsav procession within a limited radius. Let us tell you that in this Muslim-dominated area, there was an attack on the procession taken out on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav last year. But this time, the Delhi Police had made elaborate security preparations. In sensitive areas, the drone was visible everywhere. Police personnel were deployed on rooftops in residential areas.

Police had said that the organisers sought permission to take out a procession on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav in Jahangirpuri, and accordingly, the route of the procession was decided. Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Deependra Pathak had told that 'Hanuman Janmotsav celebrations were arranged in Jahangirpuri in association with the organisers. We are making sure that this programme is done safely and smoothly. Slogans of Jai Shri Ram, Bharat Mata Ki Jai, and Jaikara Veer Bajrangi were raised during the yatra. However, during this time, no one threw even a stone because this time the police had made the security very tight.

Last year, on April 16, 2022, on Hanuman Janmotsav, a group of fundamentalist Muslims pelted stones at the procession in Jahangirpuri. After this, communal tension spread throughout the entire region. There was vandalism and arson. Eight policemen were also injured in this attack. In view of this, even on the occasion of Ramnavami this year, the police did not even give permission to take out the Shobha Yatra. However, despite this, a Ram Navami procession was taken out peacefully in the area.
