Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi has offered a Post Graduate Diploma Course for Fire Fighting Professionals. According to the news of the media report, the state Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia while presenting a PG Diploma Course in this Fire Fighting and Safety Audit said that this is the first course of its kind. This course will be conducted by IP University's Center of Disaster Management Studies with technical support from the National Fire Service College, Nagpur.
While presenting the PG Diploma Course in Fire Fighting and Safety Audit, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said, “Fire and life safety has been one of the most challenging and urgent problems in our India. This has become more difficult in today's scenario due to lack of public awareness in metropolitan cities and other urban areas and non-adherence to building codes. "
The Deputy Chief Minister said, "This is the first course of its kind offered by the university which is an appropriate step towards fulfilling the requirements of safety measures in the society. We want to give well-trained fire professionals to society so that they can contribute to the nation and save more and more lives.” Manish Sisodia, who is also the state education minister, urged the university to increase the popularity of this course, keep developing it further and give it a dynamic look.
