PANAJI: Goa Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane announced on Monday that the state government has embarked on a visionary project to develop 'Waterfall Circuits' in the lush forest areas, in collaboration with the local community.
Nestled within the coastal state's forested regions, numerous monsoon seasonal waterfalls allure tourists from neighboring states to venture into the enchanting hinterlands. Recognizing the allure of these cascading wonders, the government has taken the initiative to establish 'Waterfall Circuits.'
"To magnify the charm of Goa's picturesque hinterland, the Department of Forest, in partnership with Goa Forest Development Corporation Ltd (GFDC), envisions crafting captivating Waterfall Circuits that engage the local community," stated Rane.
The project proposal is currently in progress, with efforts underway to gain necessary approvals. Rane elaborated, "The aim is to offer nature enthusiasts a remarkable opportunity to immerse themselves in the mesmerizing beauty of pristine and adventurous waterfalls nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Western Ghats."
These meticulously planned circuits will provide professional guided excursions, along with essential eco-friendly amenities and comprehensive safety measures. To ensure visitors' well-being, trained healthcare experts will accompany them, ready to assist with any minor injuries. Moreover, these trails will generate ample employment prospects for the youth, right at their doorstep," he affirmed.
