Indore: The dispute between the collector and the health officer amid the corona epidemic in Madhya Pradesh's economic capital Indore has finally come to a halt after a long struggle for the second day. Indore Collector Manish Singh expressed regret to district health officer Dr Purnima Gadaria for his behaviour. The doctor has since returned to work.
It may be recalled that Dr Purnima had resigned two days ago accusing the collector of indecent behaviour. The entire health department has since opened a front against the collector. The 2-hour meeting in the residency area on Friday morning was also inconclusive to convince the rallied doctors. The meeting was attended by Minister-in-charge Tulsi Silawat, Minister Usha Thakur, MP Shankar Lalwani, Divisional Commissioner Dr Pawan Kumar Sharma, Health Officer and Doctors. But when things did not work out, the Ministers and officers had returned.
The doctors had given a 3-day ultimatum to remove the collector. He had said that during this period he would continue to do duty by tying black belt. If the collector is not removed in 3 days, he will start the strike. Health Minister Prabhuram Chaudhary said that minister-in-charge Tulsi Silawat is in constant touch with all sides. The controversy will come to a halt, soon the positive results will be in front of everyone. Thereafter, both sides sat in the divisional office. The collector regretted it and the dispute was resolved.
