New Delhi: In Lok Sabha on Friday, a BJP member, Heena Gavit, humorously criticized the opposition by likening the INDIA bloc to a cricket team with 11 captains unwilling to accommodate other players. Gavit initiated the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address, portraying INDIA bloc leaders as 'Big Boss' participants, all eyeing the "trophy" of becoming the prime minister. She suggested that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is experiencing comprehensive development, anticipating INDIA bloc leaders to start switching sides.
Gavit humorously described TMC leader Mamata Banerjee as the "captain" of West Bengal, unwilling to accommodate Congress in her team. Similarly, she characterized AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal as the captain of Punjab treating Congress as the 12th member of the team. Gavit, representing Nandurbar (Maharashtra) in the Lok Sabha, expressed confidence that people would vote for PM Modi in the upcoming parliamentary elections, emphasizing his government's commitment to presenting a full-fledged Union Budget soon.
Highlighting the recent achievements, Gavit noted the significance of a woman president addressing the joint sitting of the two Houses on January 31 and a woman finance minister presenting an interim Budget the next day. As a woman MP representing a tribal area, she moved the motion to thank the president for her address. Gavit urged the youth to be job creators and emphasized the government's focus on fostering this approach. She also criticized the dual character of the Congress, pointing out contradictions in their approach to corporate leaders and job creation.
