Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has commenced the placement drive for the students. On the first day a total of 272 students secured offers among which three students were offered employments from international organizations. 

The top recruiters at IIT Roorkee include Amazon, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), JP Morgan Chase and Company, Goldman Sachs, and Microsoft. The placement drive commenced on December 1, 2020, and according to reports out of the 272 job offers made 153 were made during the pre-placement session. Last year the number of pre-placement offers made was 139. Last year Rs. 60 Lakh was the highest domestic package offered to the students while this year in spite of the COVID-19 situation there has been a major increase in the package offered with Rs.80 Lakh being the highest.

Along with IIT Roorkee, many of the IITs across the country are conducting placement drives for the students. Due to the COVID-19 situation, the placements are being conducted for the students virtually.
