According to media reports, Bapu Anand Singh Tanwar has written a letter to the Gehlot government regarding the complete liquor ban in Ramdevra of Pokhran area of Jaisalmer district. He threatened to immolate himself if liquor was not banned in Ramdevra by August 26. Bapu Anand Singh Tanwar wrote in a letter to Chief Minister Gehlot that on March 7, 2019, on the fast for prohibition in Ramdevra, you had broken the fast by giving juice to me and other villages and ordered to implement prohibition in the religious place Ramdevra. You also gave orders, but the officers have not complied with the instructions even after three years to date. In such a situation, government liquor shops are set up in Ramdevra. Due to this the sentiments of the devotees are being hurt. Seven days from now, if the order to ban liquor is not implemented in Ramdevra by August 27, I will be forced to immolate myself to protect my self-respect.
Ramdevra is a major religious place. Which was established by Pir Baba Ramdev. Now liquor is being sold in public here.
