OnePlus is set to launch its latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 13, at an event in China later this month. Reports suggest that the company is accelerating the release to capitalize on the buzz surrounding the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4/Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
Price Details
Recent leaks on Chinese social media indicate that the OnePlus 13 will launch at a price of CNY 5,299 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. This represents a CNY 500 increase, or about 10.4%, from the OnePlus 12, which debuted at CNY 4,799 for the same specifications.
Although there is no confirmed pricing for the OnePlus 13 in India yet, a similar percentage increase could suggest a price around Rs. 77,000, compared to the OnePlus 12's launch price of Rs. 69,999.
Specifications Overview
According to leaks, the OnePlus 13 is expected to be the first smartphone equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4/8 Elite processor. Early benchmarks indicate that this processor may outperform the A18 Pro chip found in the iPhone 16 Pro.
For years, Apple has led the smartphone market with its proprietary silicon, but the introduction of the Snapdragon chipset could shift the balance this year.
The OnePlus 13 is rumored to feature a 6.8-inch BOE X2 LTPO AMOLED display, boasting an impressive peak brightness of 6,000 nits and 1,600 nits in high brightness mode. Additionally, the phone may come with a robust 6,000mAh battery and an IP68/69 rating for water resistance. Fast charging capabilities are also anticipated, with support for 100W wired and 50W magnetic wireless charging.
Another significant upgrade for the OnePlus 13 is the introduction of an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, replacing the optical sensor found in its predecessor. Ultrasonic sensors are generally faster and more secure, even functioning effectively with wet or dirty fingers. Competing flagship models like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Pixel 9 Pro also utilize optical fingerprint sensors.
