Sriganganagar: A shameful incident has come to light from the Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan. A married woman and her lover have been arrested for allegedly killing their own 3-year-old daughter and throwing the body from a moving train here. Police reported this on Thursday.

The criminals have been identified as Sunita and Sunny. According to the police, on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, the woman strangled her daughter Kiran and with the help of Sunny, wrapped her body in a bedsheet and went to Sriganganagar railway station. Superintendent of Police (Sriganganagar) Anand Sharma said they boarded the train at 6.10 am and when the train reached the bridge over the canal before Fatuhi railway station, they dropped the body from the moving train. They said they wanted to throw the body in the canal but it fell near the railway track. The girl's body was recovered on Tuesday morning.

Sunita, who has five children, lives with Sunny and her two daughters in Shastri Nagar, while three children live with their husband, police said. After identifying the girl, the police traced Sunita and called her for questioning. After interrogation, she confessed to killing her daughter, after which both the criminals have been arrested.
