A shocking incident comes to light in which an elderly man, who was a priest, and his wife were attacked with a petrol bomb to burn them alive in the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan.
The incident comes to light on Sunday night. 10 attackers is said attacked the priest and his family. The priest has been identified as Navratna Lal (75) and his wife Jamna Devi (60). He suffered 80 per cent burns in the attack. The elderly couple were taken to the hospital by the police, where their condition remains critical. The case pertains to the Devgarh police station area of Rajsamand district.
As per the information, the shop of the priest's family was set on fire by throwing petrol bombs late on Sunday night. The priest and his wife were badly burnt in the attack. The elderly couple have been admitted to Deogarh CHC. The condition of both remains critical. Police have detained eight suspects in this case. As per the information the case is related to a property dispute.
It all started when 10 to12 people entered the shop and hurled petrol bombs at the priest couple at around 8.30 pm on Sunday night, in front of Essar Petrol Pump located at Kamli Ghat, National Highway-8, in Deogarh Police Station area of Rajsamand.
The accused fled away from the spot. The negligence of the police has also come to the fore in this dispute as Navratna’s son, Mukesh Prajapat claimed that he had already complained at the outpost but they didn’t listen. The priest's family was having dinner at the time of the incident. The priest son also said that the clothes of his parents caught fire as soon as the bomb was hurled and he extinguished it with the help of locals before phoning the ambulance and the cops. Further investigation is going on in the matter.
