Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has tightened the ban on free ration and ration cards in Uttarakhand. Food and Civil Supplies Minister Rekha Arya has asked eligible persons to give ration cards by December 31 in every situation. Also, free gas cylinders have been asked to be provided to Antyodaya cardholders.
In a departmental review meeting in the Assembly on Tuesday, Rekha Arya, while reviewing the biometric system, said that there is a network problem in hilly districts. Therefore, people should not be deprived of ration because of this, but there is no such problem in the plains districts. Therefore, 100 percent online and biometric use should be done here. He also asked to make a report to resolve the problems of ration dealers.
On the other hand, the Pushkar Singh Dhami government of Uttarakhand is preparing to establish 15 new cities. For this, preliminary selection has been made at 12 places in Garhwal and 10 in Kumaon before the level of Uttarakhand Housing and Urban Development Council (UDA). These new cities will be built in a planned manner. These include cities like Doiwala, Charba, Sahaspur, Arcadia, Roshanabad, and Roorkee, in the eastern region of Bahadrabad, near Kotdwar, near Chinyalisaur airstrip, on Gaucher Alaknanda coast, south of Simli, Bhardisain-Gairsain, etc.
