Bhopal: Good news has come for thousands of people of Madhya Pradesh. More than 6,000 illegal colonies in the state will be valid. The government has finalized the rules for their regularization. After regularization, the people living in these colonies will also get permission to construct buildings and also get bank loans. According to reports, there are currently about 6,876 illegal colonies in the state.
The highest number of illegal colonies in this list are in Gwalior, Jabalpur, Bhopal and Indore. The biggest benefit of regularization will be that people will be eligible for bank loans if they become legal under the illegal housing process. Road, electricity, water facilities will soon be available through the municipal body in the colony. In addition, it has been decided that houses constructed more than the map will be settled by charging compounding means compromise fee for more construction.
The persons who have constructed more without permission or contrary to the permission granted can avail 20% discount by applying till February 28, 2022. The government had on August 10, 2021, made necessary amendments to the Municipal Act in connection with the regularization of colonies. It also includes statutory provisions for the regularization of colonies. Also, the compounding limit has been increased from 10 to 30 per cent when buildings are constructed without permission or against permission. It is said that 5320 applications for compounding have been received in municipal bodies from August 31 to December 27, out of which 4264 cases have been allowed. 54.45 crore to the bodies.
