Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced last Friday that the state will allow walk-in registration for the 18-44 age group during the Covid-19 vaccination drive starting June 13. In fact, Pramod Sawant had earlier said, "The state government aims to vaccinate its entire population against Covid-19 with at least the first dose by July 30".
In a video addressing the residents of Goa today, Sunday, CM Sawant said, "There is no need for pre-registration. You can walk-in and get vaccinated. All persons above the age of 18 years will be eligible for walk-in vaccination without any restrictions. The campaign will be conducted at 164 locations at municipal and gram panchayat level and 40 permanent locations of Directorate of Health Services across Goa. The campaign he was referring to is the third phase of 'Tika Utsav' in the state."
He also said, "Apart from permanent immunization centres located at PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRES and COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRES in the State, there will also be vaccination centres from one village to another. A timetable for the same will be issued by the Government. Each vaccination centre will be able to deliver 250 doses a day. At the same time, he said, "Please don't rush into vaccination centres. A timetable will be issued, see when there is a camp in your village and do not run to any other Gram Panchayat for vaccination. The Goa government has decided to launch the third phase of the vaccine festival after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced free vaccination for all from June 21.".
Let us also inform all of you that as per the data released by the Government on Friday, 4,06,621 people have been administered the first dose of the vaccine in the State while 98,091 people have received both the doses.
