Confidential documents released on November 20 reveal Germany's plans to deploy up to 800,000 NATO troops, including American forces, to Ukraine in response to escalating fears of Russian nuclear threats.

The secret strategy, known as “Operation Deutschland,” spans over 1,000 pages and outlines Germany’s contingency plans for a potential World War III scenario. The documents, according to sources, include detailed steps to safeguard critical infrastructure, as well as guidance for citizens and businesses to improve readiness in case of heightened conflict. These measures are part of Germany’s preparation for the possibility of NATO increasing its presence in Ukraine.

The plan also involves the logistics of moving 200,000 military vehicles through German territory if NATO becomes more involved in the conflict. While these details remain classified, citizens have been encouraged to take steps toward greater self-sufficiency, such as installing diesel generators or wind turbines.

Worries over the Ukraine conflict are not limited to Germany. Countries like Sweden and Norway have also advised their citizens to prepare for the potential spread of the war. This comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent announcement of changes to Russia’s nuclear policy, which now allows for the use of nuclear weapons in response to conventional strikes. Many see this move as a direct warning to the West.

Germany has faced criticism for delays in providing full support to Ukraine since the conflict began in 2022. However, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock reaffirmed Germany's commitment, stating that the nation would not be intimidated by Putin’s threats. Baerbock criticized Germany’s previous reliance on Kremlin assurances and called for greater investment in national security.

This shift in policy follows the U.S. decision to send long-range missiles to Ukraine, allowing attacks on Russian territory far beyond the previous 190-mile buffer zone. Experts believe the involvement of U.S. troops could significantly escalate the war.

In the U.S., former President Donald Trump has raised concerns about the possibility of global conflict, particularly with Russia, North Korea, and Iran. While Trump has not presented a clear strategy for addressing the Ukraine war, he has shown support for Ukraine's military actions and President Zelensky’s "victory plan" to directly confront Russia.

Zelensky has expressed hope that U.S.-Ukraine relations will strengthen under a potential Trump administration, highlighting the "peace through strength" approach. He also warned that without ongoing U.S. military assistance, Ukraine’s ability to defend itself would be at serious risk.
