In celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi 2024, the Mumbai Metro has announced extended operating hours and fare reductions to accommodate festival-goers. The changes are designed to enhance convenience during the vibrant ten-day festival, which begins today, September 7.
Extended Metro Timings: The Mumbai Metro operates on three main routes:
For the festival, Metro Line 1 will see its last train departing Versova at 12:10 AM, an extension from the usual 11:20 PM. The final train from Ghatkopar to Versova will now leave at 12:40 AM instead of 11:45 PM.
Lines 2A and 7, operated by the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL), will also extend their hours. From September 11 to 17, the last trains will run until 11:30 PM, an increase of 30 minutes from the regular 11 PM.
Fare Reductions: In addition to extended hours, metro fares have been reduced by up to 33%. The updated fare structure for Navi Mumbai Metro is as follows:
The fare from Belapur Terminal to Pendhar has been lowered from Rs 40 to Rs 30. These changes aim to make travel easier and more affordable for festival attendees.
