A day after the Sangam stampede that claimed 30 lives leaving 60 injured, another mishap has occurred at the Mahakumbh. A fire broke out on Thursday afternoon in the sector-22 area of the fair area, that burnt several pandals.
As of now, no injuries or casualties have been reported. The fire brigade had reached the spot within no time and efforts are on to control the fire. As reported there was no presence of people at the time of the accident, thus there has been no loss of life. The senior officials reached the spot where the fire broke out. However, actual reason for the cause of fire is not yet clear.
Before this, there was a fire in the fair area of Mahakumbh ten days ago, on January 19 in the evening around 4:30 pm. The fire occurred then, in the camp of Gita Press in Sector 19 near Shastri Bridge. As many as 180 pandals were burnt due to the fire.
Then, the fire was caused due to the gas leakage from the small cylinder in the kitchen of Gita Press. At that time, tea was prepared in the kitchen. Â Moreover, the fire led to the blast of two gas cylinders kept in the kitchen premises.
Altogether, there were 13 LPG cylinders kept in these cottages that exploded due to the fire. It also burnt five bikes and as much as Rs 5 lakh cash. Then too, fortunately there were no casualties. It was brought to control as fire personnel were already present at the time of the incident.
