BANGALORE: The Republic of Fiji has awarded its highest civilian honor to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, recognizing his significant contributions to global human upliftment and community harmony. The award highlights his extensive humanitarian work through The Art of Living, which focuses on mental health, education, environmental sustainability, and stress relief initiatives.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a renowned global spiritual leader and humanitarian, was named an "Honorary Officer of the Order of Fiji" by the President of Fiji, HE Ratu Wiliame M Katonivere. This prestigious recognition marks Fiji as the sixth country worldwide to bestow its highest civilian award upon him, acknowledging his broad humanitarian efforts over the past 43 years.
Through The Art of Living, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has promoted happiness and harmony globally through various initiatives targeting mental health, education, environmental issues, and the empowerment of women and youth, as well as stress relief and meditation programs.
During his visit to Fiji, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar engaged with key state dignitaries, including Fiji's Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka and Dirk Wagener, the UN Resident Coordinator in Fiji. The discussions centered around how The Art of Living can further contribute to the holistic development of the island nation, particularly in empowering youth, enhancing mental health in local communities, and introducing the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda.
