Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand: A heart-pounding incident unfolded along the pedestrian path leading to the revered Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand when a man, in pursuit of the perfect selfie, tumbled into the Mandakini river in the Ramabada area. Fortunately, the quick response of courageous locals ensured his safe rescue, as depicted in a viral video of the harrowing incident.
This incident occurred on a Monday as the man sought to capture a selfie while positioned on a bridge spanning the river. Regrettably, he lost his balance and plunged into the river, which was surging with a formidable current.
A video lasting two minutes and nineteen seconds captured the tense moments, with the man desperately clutching a rock to prevent being swept away. In close proximity, a group of individuals valiantly fought against the powerful river current, forming a human chain in a bid to reach the imperiled man. His cries for assistance echoed in the air as he remained stranded in the middle of the river.
Approximately a minute into the video, one of the rescuers made a daring move by tossing a rope toward the struggling man. Following a strenuous struggle, the man managed to grasp the lifeline and was subsequently hauled to safety upon a rock amidst the rushing waters.
Remarkably, the man emerged from the ordeal without sustaining any significant injuries, much to the relief of all involved.
