Puducherry: There was jollity everywhere in the country on the occasion of Diwali. Meanwhile, a shocking incident is coming to light in which a father and son carrying crackers on a scooty lost their lives in a massive blast in Puducherry. The case pertains to the Puducherry-Villupuram border on Thursday when Deepawali was being celebrated across the country. Father Kalanesan and his 7-year-old son Pradeep were on their way to Kunimedu village on Kottakuppam East Coast Road in Villupuram district on Thursday when the accident took place.
According to the same reports, the duo was carrying two bags of desi firecrackers on scooty. As a result, firecrackers exploded suddenly at Kottakuppam in Villupuram district in which both father and son lost their lives on the spot. Three others were injured. The sound of firecrackers being carried by scooty is faster than other normal firecrackers.

According to sources, Kalanesan was accompanying his seven-year-old son to his in-law's village in Kunimedu village in Villupuram district. They had two bags of desi firecrackers for fireworks. When they crossed Kottakuppam in Villupuram district, the firecrackers in the bag exploded, burning the father and son to death on the spot. The explosion was so dangerous that both of them's bodies were divided into several pieces and scattered at different places.
