It has come to light from a news report backed by documents that a trust (Siddhartha Vihara Trust) run by Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge’s family has been allocated 05 acres of… pic.twitter.com/ghJPvq2W10
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad had alleged that the Congress government of Karnataka allotted 5 acres of land to the trust run by Kharge's family under suspicious circumstances. He has demanded transparency and honesty from the Congress President in this matter. The BJP said that the Siddaramaiah government allotted this land for research and development in a high-tech defense area in Bengaluru, and this allocation happened a few days after the rules were laid down. Ravi Shankar Prasad also said that the matter has reached the Karnataka Lokayukta and is also pending in the court. He demanded a clear answer from Kharge, as he is not only the Congress President but also the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. The BJP also said that the matter is being investigated "sincerely".
Meanwhile, the Karnataka Lokayukta police have registered a case against Siddaramaiah in connection with alleged irregularities in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also launched a probe into money laundering allegations linked to the case. When the Siddhartha Vihar Trust decided to return the controversial land, the question arises whether it means that the land was acquired illegally. If this property was earned through the hard work of the Kharge family, why would they hand it over to the government, especially when there are allegations against them. It is believed that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's family is resorting to returning the land to avoid legal problems.
