New Delhi: The second wave of corona in the country has gone out of control. There are reports of acute shortage of beds, ventilators, and oxygen in hospitals. Several hospitals have also refused to admit patients due to lack of oxygen. Because of this, people are dying. In the meantime, what a man did, setting an example of friendship and humanity, is commendable.
In fact, 38-year-old school teacher Devendra arrived in Noida from Bokaro in Jharkhand with an oxygen cylinder for his friend Ranjan Agarwal. He drove 1400 kilometers for about 24 hours to help his friend. According to media reports, Devendra was stopped once by Bihar and once by the UP police on the way but was allowed to leave after understanding the case. However, it was not so easy to get oxygen cylinders even in Bokra. Devendra contacted several oxygen plants and suppliers in the city but said he would be able to get empty cylinders again.
Devendra finally reached the steel oxygen plant in Balidih industrial area. The technician agreed to give them cylinders with full security deposit. They got a cylinder of 10,000 and oxygen of 400. Devendra said his friend is better now and will be discharged from the hospital soon.
