Dense Fog Grips Delhi-NCR Amid Ongoing Coldwave; Flights Delayed

New Delhi: Parts of Delhi-NCR experienced dense fog on Tuesday, adding to the prevailing coldwave across northern Indian states. The meteorological department had issued a warning for dense fog in Delhi, accompanied by a yellow alert. The Safdarjung Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 6.9 degrees Celsius, causing disruptions to several flights due to reduced visibility. Delhi is expected to have mainly clear skies with maximum and minimum temperatures settling around 18 and 7 degrees Celsius, respectively. Similar fog conditions were observed in parts of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Punjab, Delhi, and Bihar.

Weather Impact on Flights; Delhi's Minimum Temperature Recorded

Delhi-NCR witnessed the impact of dense fog on Tuesday, affecting flight schedules as visibility dropped. The Safdarjung Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 6.9 degrees Celsius, while the Lodhi Road recorded 6.0 degrees Celsius. Flights faced delays due to reduced visibility in the national capital. The Palam Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 7.4 degrees Celsius. The weather department issued a warning for dense fog in Delhi and a yellow alert for the day, with mainly clear skies expected.

Coldwave Conditions Continue; Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab Report Chilly Weather

The ongoing coldwave conditions persisted in parts of northern India, with Rajasthan experiencing chilly weather and dense fog. Fatehpur in Sikar district recorded a low of 1.6 degrees Celsius, and Alwar reported a night temperature of 2.8 degrees Celsius. Dense fog was observed in several areas of the state, with the weather office predicting similar conditions for the next 24 hours. In Haryana and Punjab, the cold weather intensified, leading to moderate to dense fog in the morning across most places.
