New Delhi: In the midst of a severe water crisis in Delhi, political tensions are escalating with a flurry of allegations and counter-allegations. On Saturday, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdev accused the Kejriwal government of corruption in connection with illegal tap connections.

Sachdev alleged that in many areas of the city, illegal water connections were given to residents for Rs 35,000 each, with the corrupt funds reaching officials at all levels of the AAP government. He shared these accusations through a video posted on the social media platform X.

In his post, Sachdev questioned why legal water connections could not be provided if illegal ones were being sold for money. He claimed that Delhi, struggling with a severe water shortage, is determined to remove the corrupt AAP government.

In the video, Sachdev stated, "From the beginning, we have claimed that Aam Aadmi Party ministers and MLAs are involved in water theft and black marketing. The latest instance is in Buddha Vihar, Indrapuri, where Rs 35,000 was taken from residents for illegal connections to the Delhi Jal Board's pipes. No meters were installed, and all transactions were illegal. Yet, water is being supplied for a price. In this scam, the Chief Minister, ministers, and MLAs of the AAP are involved, but they remain silent."

Sachdev called out several AAP leaders, including Atishi Marlena, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Raghav Chadha, and Durgesh Pathak, asking why illegal connections could be given while legal ones were not, and why the government couldn't generate revenue from these connections. He accused them of pocketing the money through corrupt practices.

He further criticized Arvind Kejriwal, stating, "People are desperate for water. The people of Delhi entrusted you with power, hoping you would serve them, but instead, you have looted the city. The people of Delhi, known for their patience, will not tolerate this forever. They will hold you accountable for every drop of water."

These statements underscore the growing political tension and public dissatisfaction with the handling of the water crisis in Delhi.
