NEW DELHI: Delhi University (DU) has extended the deadline for Phase 2 of its admission process to Friday, August 9, at 11:59 p.m. This phase requires applicants to finalize their program and college preferences. The original deadline was set for Wednesday.
As per a university announcement, students who have completed Phase 1 need to log into their dashboards to complete their preferences for programs and colleges. These preferences will influence their admission placement. The university advises selecting as many preferences as possible to increase chances of admission. Additionally, trials for performance-based programs, extracurricular activities (ECA), and sports quotas are expected to start on Monday, August 12, 2024.
Programs affected include B.A. (H) in Music, Bachelor of Fine Arts, B.Sc, Physical Education, Health Education, and Sports. The quota allocation will begin in the third round. Applicants should frequently check the admission website and respective college or department pages for detailed updates.
The admissions process for the 2024-25 academic year is in progress, with Delhi University offering over 71,000 seats across more than 65 colleges via the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG).
Phase 2 of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) commenced last Friday following the CUET - UG results released by the National Testing Agency. The schedule for allocation and admission for the 2024-25 session has been published.
Prospective students can register for DU undergraduate admissions until August 7 at 4:59 p.m. During Phase 2, applicants must match their Class 12 subjects with those tested in CUET UG 2024, as only corresponding CUET papers will be considered. A simulated rank list will be available on August 11 after completing Phases 1 and 2. Candidates will have the opportunity to revise their preferences from 5 p.m. on August 11 to 11:59 p.m. on August 12.
The first merit list for DU UG admissions is set to be released on August 16 at 5 p.m. Applicants can accept their allocated seats from 5 p.m. on August 16 to 4:59 p.m. on August 18. Colleges will then verify and approve the online applications. The academic session, originally slated to start on August 1, was postponed due to delays in CUET results amidst concerns over NEET and UGC-NET exam discrepancies.
This year, DU has introduced a single girl child quota under its supernumerary category, allowing single girl children to gain admission based on merit across various programs.
