New Delhi: A case has been registered against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Singh. Delhi Police has also given a copy of the FIR to the wrestlers. On this whole issue, however, Brij Bhushan has declared himself innocent and is ready to undergo every investigation. However, Singh is still not ready to resign. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has said in a statement that the police will provide security to the wrestlers.
In media reports today (April 29) Delhi Police officials have been quoted in the sexual harassment case as saying that the Delhi Police will provide security to all the wrestlers who file complaints. A total of 7 players, including a minor, have given a complaint against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh to the Delhi Police. Police will soon take the statements of the victims on record. It is alleged that Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh sexually assaulted women wrestlers not only in the country but also during international events abroad.
In this case, the counsel for the wrestlers Narendra Hooda has said that the Delhi Police has registered an FIR under sections 354, 354(A), 354(D) and 34 of the IPC. The copy of the other FIR was not provided to us (as it would be given only to the victim's family). In this case, the Delhi Police has also clarified that out of the two cases, one copy has been given to the wrestlers, while one copy is under the POCSO Act, so it will be given only to the victim's family.
