New Delhi: A case of rape of a 9-year-old girl in The New Seelampur area of the country's capital has come to light. Police have arrested a 46-year-old accused in the case. Police said that a case of rape and under the Pocso Act has been registered against the accused. The DCP of North East Delhi said that on June 3, at around 11:15 am, a PCR call was received at seelampur police station. It said that a 9-year-old girl was raped in New Seelampur.
After which the police team immediately reached the spot and the victim was taken to JPC Hospital for medical examination. The medical examination report of the girl confirmed rape. A case has been registered under sections 376AB, 376(2)(l) IPC and 6 Pocso Act in the case and an investigation has been initiated. Police teams are on the lookout for the accused. Interrogation revealed that 46-year-old Mohammed Sajid was employed in a small factory near the victim's house. The accused knew the victim beforehand.
On Friday, when the girl was playing on the road, the accused Sajid reached there and lured the girl to the factory, where she committed the rape. The police said that preliminary investigations have also revealed that the victim has been mentally suffering from childhood. At present, police said that the accused, Sajid (46 years), is a resident of Narwada village in the Begusarai district of Bihar.
