New Delhi: Delhi has recorded 2,300 road accidents so far this year. 505 people have died in these accidents. According to official figures, in the last five months, there are 495 major, 1762 minor and 43 non-injury accidents, while 2,152 people have been injured in these accidents. At the same time, 222 accidents have taken place in the South-East district of Delhi. After this, 192 accidents have been registered in the south-west, 191 in the outer north and 186 in the western district.

According to the district-wise data released, maximum 56 deaths due to these road accidents have occurred in the outer north district. After this, 50 people died in North West district, 46 people died in South West and 45 people died in West district. According to statistics, Shahdara has the least number of deaths in road accidents. In Shahdara, 16 people died in accidents in five months. After this, 19 people died in Rohini and 21 in South districts.

According to the data, the least 75 accidents have happened in New Delhi district. After this 77 Shahdara and 100 accidents have happened in Rohini district. Whereas in these accidents, maximum 211 people were injured in the South-East district and the least 63 people were injured in Shahdara. According to Delhi Police data, there were 1,206 major road accidents in the city in 2021, in which 1239 people lost their lives. Police said that there has been an increase of 3.6 percent in major accidents in 2021 as compared to 2020. In 2020, 1,163 people lost their lives in these accidents.
