New Delhi: A court in the national capital Delhi has deferred the verdict in the bail case of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Sharjeel Imam. In fact, the prosecution has to file a written and sought reply. After which the matter has now been listed for July 20.
Let us know that a Delhi court has asked for CCTV footage of the jail cell in which Sharjeel Imam is imprisoned. At the same time, the duty register of the jail servant has also been asked to be produced in court by court. It may be recalled that Sharjeel Imam had alleged that he was assaulted in jail and called a terrorist. In such a situation, Sharjeel Imam had moved the Delhi court citing a threat to his life.
Sharjeel Imam has filed the application in court through his lawyer Ahmed Ibrahim. He says he has been attacked and assaulted in jail. It is alleged that other inmates of the jail misbehaved with him. They threw away his clothes and his books. When Sharjeel opposed it, he was called a terrorist and anti-national.
