Noida Police have launched a probe into the death of a 19-year-old. The matter was brought to the attention of police by locals who found the boy's body dumped in bushes in Noida Sector 32 on Friday. Personnel from Noida Sector 24 police station rushed to the spot in Sector 32 upon receiving a distress call about the body of an unidentified boy being found in the bushes. The victim has now been identified as one Ashok, a resident of the slums in Noida Sector 9, according to news report by PTI.
A spokesperson with Noida Police said the boy's family has been informed of his demise, adding that the cause of death is yet to be ascertained. The 19-year-old's body has been sent for post-mortem and further investigation into the matter is underway. In a similar incident reported earlier this month, a woman's body was recovered from neighboring Ghaziabad. The 25-year-old woman's body was found in the bushes on the banks of the Behta canal in Ghaziabad's Loni area.
Earlier in August, the body of a 40-year-old man was recovered from the bushes in Greater Noida. Residents of Ishepur village in UP's Greater Noida had first brought the matter to the attention of Dankaur police. At the time it was found, the body was bloated leading police to believe that it had been dumped somewhere upstream and floated in the canal for some time before it was discovered by locals who alerted the police.
