Today, the auctioning of four ancestral properties linked to underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim is scheduled to take place, with a reserve price set at Rs. 19 lakh. Among these properties is the house where Ibrahim spent his childhood.

These four parcels of agricultural land are situated in Mumbake village, located in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district. One of the potential bidders eyeing Dawood Ibrahim's properties is lawyer and Shiv Sena member Ajay Srivastava. Reports suggest his interest in bidding for the criminal's ancestral home.

The government had seized these properties under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act of 1976. Ajay Srivastava had previously attempted bids on three of Ibrahim's properties, including his childhood home in Mumbake. Pending legal clearances prompted the Shiv Sena member's plans to establish a Sanatan Pathshala (school) on the property.

Over the past two decades, multiple properties belonging to Dawood have been auctioned by the government. The first auction occurred in 2000, where fear of the underworld criminal deterred potential bidders from participating.

In 2020, six properties linked to Dawood Ibrahim, including his childhood home in Mumbake, went up for auction. Additionally, in 2017, three luxurious bungalows in South Delhi, along with a hotel owned by Ibrahim, were sold by the government.

Recent reports suggested an assassination attempt on Dawood Ibrahim in Pakistan, resulting in his hospitalization in Karachi due to poisoning. Reports indicated treatment received at a Pakistani hospital under tight security measures.

Dawood Ibrahim is infamous for masterminding the 1993 Mumbai blasts, claiming nearly 250 lives and injuring thousands. Indian authorities have hinted at Ibrahim residing in Karachi's upscale Clifton area, although the Pakistan government has repeatedly denied these claims.
