Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has shifted several families to temporary places in view of the landslide in the sinking town of Joshimath. However, the problem has not stopped yet and incidents of land subsidence are coming continuously. Meanwhile, Dr. PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, will hold a high-level meeting with the Cabinet Secretary, senior officers of the Government of India, and members of the National Disaster Management Authority in the PMO this afternoon regarding the situation. The District Magistrate of Joshimath and senior officers of Uttarakhand will also be present on this issue through video conference. 

Significantly, the landslide that started from Joshimath in Chamoli, Uttarakhand has now reached Karnprayag. On the one hand, the people of Joshimath are worried and worried, while on the other hand, cracks have started appearing in about fifty houses present in Bahuguna Nagar of Karnprayag municipality. Due to landslides, the walls of these houses have started cracking slowly. After the collapse of the houses, the victims of the area appealed to the state government for help.

Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand government has released an additional amount of Rs 11 crore to Chamoli for security and rescue operations. Joshimath is the gateway to popular pilgrimage centers like Badrinath, and Hemkund Sahib and is known as the place where Adi Guru Shankaracharya did penance centuries ago. The Central Government has constituted a panel to "quick study" the landslide incident and its impact on Joshimath. Joshimath is considered the gateway to some popular pilgrimage sites including Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, and international skiing destination Auli is on the brink of cataclysm.
