Jaipur: A minor Dalit girl was gang-raped in Rajasthan's Kota. Most of the accused are said to be from the Muslim community. According to the information, the girl was held captive for 4 days and one-by-one raped by half a dozen people. Later, Kota Police ASI Raunak Ali, who is investigating the case, has also been accused of molesting the victim. After which Raunak Ali has been suspended. The police have formed an SIT to investigate the case. The girl went missing from her home on September 14, 2022.

According to media reports, the case is of the Ramganjmandi police station area. The victim, aged around 14 years, is a class 10 student. According to the report, on September 14, 2022, the victim left her home and boarded the train and reached Kota. Here, her senior friend was found in her class, who forcibly kept the victim with him from September 14 to September 18. It is alleged that the victim was raped several times during this period. The victim's family lodged a complaint with the police. On September 18, the accused dropped the girl in front of a park and fled.

The girl was handed over to the police. The investigating officer of the case was Assistant Sub-Inspector Raunak Ali. Raunak Ali, after taking her to the police station, took the victim to Kota's 'Child Welfare Committee' on the 19th. On September 23, the victim was counselled and handed over to her family members. When the news of the matter came to Hindu organizations, Bajrang Dal demanded strict action against the culprits of the incident. The medical examination of the victim was conducted and after that, her statement was recorded under Section 164 in front of the magistrate.

The victim's family has accused the police of negligence in action. They said that efforts are being made to suppress the case and save the accused. According to a report, investigating officer Raunak Ali himself was accused of molesting the girl. It is alleged that Raunak Ali also abused the Dalit rape victim at the police station. Following these allegations, ASI Raunak Ali has been suspended. On September 25, 2022, the BJP MLA and other leaders complained about the matter to the Inspector General (IG), and then on his instructions, an SIT was formed to investigate the incident impartially. According to the police, a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. No arrest has been made so far.
