Cyclone Hamoon is on a trajectory to potentially impact Andhra Pradesh in the coming day. Here are 10 key updates regarding this impending weather event in India's southern regions:

Dual Cyclonic Threat: India's southern states are bracing for an unusual weather scenario, as two cyclonic systems, namely Hamoon and Tej, take shape over the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

IMD's Assessment: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) is closely monitoring a developing depression in the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to evolve into a low-intensity cyclonic storm by tomorrow, October 24.

Simultaneous Cyclones: This occurrence is remarkable due to the simultaneous development of cyclones in both the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, as reported by IMD.

Distinct Cyclones: Cyclone Tej is predicted to form in the Arabian Sea, while Cyclone Hamoon is expected to emerge in the Bay of Bengal.

Hamoon's Genesis: The depression over the Bay of Bengal is presently located in the west-central region, approximately 400 kilometers from Paradip, Odisha, and 550 kilometers south-southwest of Digha, West Bengal.

Rainfall Projections: Under the influence of Cyclone Hamoon, coastal Odisha is anticipated to experience light to moderate rainfall on October 23, with an increase in rainfall intensity expected on October 24-25.

Recent Rainfall: Some coastal districts, including Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri, have already seen light to moderate rainfall as of Monday.

Official Predictions: IMD's Bhubaneswar center has issued rainfall forecasts for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Dhenkanal, covering a 24-hour period starting from 8:30 AM on Tuesday.

Preparedness Measures: In light of the impending weather event, the Odisha government has directed district collectors to remain vigilant and prepare for any potential emergencies, including evacuations in low-lying areas during heavy rainfall.

Fishermen's Caution: To ensure safety, the fisheries and animal resources development department has advised fishermen to refrain from venturing into deep seas.

As per the latest projections from IMD, Cyclone Hamoon is expected to weaken as it approaches the Bangladesh coast and is anticipated to make landfall between Khepupara and Chittagong on Wednesday.
