JAIPUR: As Cyclone Biparjoy continued to devastate the state with heavy rain and strong gusts on Monday, orange and yellow alerts were issued for a number of districts in Rajasthan.

On Monday, the Jaipur Meteorological Centre issued orange alerts and yellow alerts for Ajmer, Jaipur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar, and Dholpur while forecasting heavy rain for Tonk, Bundi, Kota, Baran, Jhalwar, Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, and Karauli.

In the past 24 hours, rainfall of up to 12 inches has been recorded in various locations around the state, and in Pali, Jalore, Barmer, and Sirohi, flooding-like conditions have been reported.
The Jaipur Meteorological Centre reports that Biparjoy's effects will last through Tuesday in Bharatpur and the Kota division.

The depression will cause the cyclone to weaken even more and change into a low pressure region, according to centre officials. The cyclone caused the most rain to fall in Jalore. There has been 18 inches of rain in the last 36 hours.

With the aid of NDRF-SDRF, several persons were transported to safer locations. 11 trains that travel from Jodhpur to Jalore via that city have been suspended by the railways until Monday.

Sanchore, a newly established district, has also had significant rain since June 17. In Sanchore, twenty-one communities experienced flooding-like conditions as a result of the Surava Dam and Narmada Lift Canal's breaches, officials said.
