Panaji: The Goa government has extended the covid curfew imposed in the state for another week. Yes, under the relaxation given here, restaurants and bars will now be allowed to work with a seating capacity of up to 50 per cent between 7 am and 9 pm. Now that the relaxation given by the State Government has brought a lot of relief to the restaurant and bar owners, they were banned for more than a month due to increase in covid-19 cases.

It is also reported that shops and malls will now be allowed to be opened from 7 am to 6 pm. Earlier, they were allowed to operate till 3 pm. Similarly, salons and other outdoor sports complexes/stadiums are also allowed to be opened. However, educational institutions, cinema halls, auditories, casinos, gyms, spas, indoor sports complexes will remain closed. On the other hand, the total number of infected persons has increased to 1,67,436 with 164 new cases of Covid-19 reported in Goa last Sunday.

At the same time, the death toll due to the epidemic has risen to 3,073 with four more patients dying. Recently, a state health department official said that 202 covid-19 patients have also become infection free in the state in the last 24 hours, raising the number of people who have overcome the deadly virus to 1,62,276.
