Jodhpur: The Chief Bench of the Rajasthan High Court, on a petition filed by Robert Vadra and his mother Maureen Vadra, was heard by Justice G.R. Singh in Jodhpur. The hearing took place in the court of Mulchandani. Due to paucity of time, the court has now fixed September 12 as the date for further hearing in the case. The case will be the last debate on September 12. ED is demanding the lifting of the interim stay on Vadra's arrest.
The entire case relates to the land deal at Kolayat Tehsil in Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The interim order of the court is currently in force and the arrest of Robert Vadra and his partners is prohibited. It may be mentioned that the case relating to 275 Bigha land deal in Kolayat area of Bikaner is under investigation in ED. After hearing both the parties, the court has fixed September 12 as the date for the final hearing of the case.
Earlier, the court had ordered all the partners of the firm to appear before the ED and cooperate in the investigation. Robert Vadra then appeared at ED's Jaipur office on February 12 and faced questions. In the same court, ASG Rajdeep Rastogi had stated that Robert Vadra had given a cheque to his partner Maureen Vadra. By this cheque, middleman Mahesh Nagar has carried out the entire scam by purchasing land in the name of his driver, which is a matter of investigation.
