Gwalior: Rain has created panic in Madhya Pradesh these days. Meanwhile, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan spent time among the flood-affected people of Gwalior last Thursday. He also visited 25 villages in Dabra and Bhitarwar tehsils and heard the pain of all the people. On the other hand, CM made a big announcement saying, "An inter-departmental committee will be constituted. It will include ministers and officials from major departments.''

Moreover, he said, "The committee will do relief and rescue operations in a more trustworthy manner.'' According to the information received, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who visited Gwalior last Thursday, went inside 25 villages by road and witnessed the fury of floods. CM met the villagers and heard the pain of the floods and said, "Floods have happened many times before, but they have never seen such destruction in the northern region before.'' The Chief Minister also said, "There has been a catastrophe. The 'infrastructure' worth thousands of crores of rupees have collapsed. Infrastructure related to roads, bridges, power supply, power substations, transformers and communication systems has collapsed. The water came at a very high speed. We could not save the rest of the things.''

Further, CM said, "An inter-departmental team of ministers will be formed to ensure that the collector does not work only for relief in the destruction. In addition, efforts will be made for the road, bridge, culvert, and other related works for relief and rehabilitation in flood-affected areas. Houses should be constructed for those whose houses have been demolished at a cost of 1.20 lakh rupees. The government will also provide 50 kg of foodgrains immediately for the affected people.''

At the same time, he also said, "The damage caused by the floods will be surveyed soon. Government to compensate flood victims for clothes, utensils, and wet foodgrains. One lakh 20 thousand rupees compensation will be given to those whose houses have been demolished. Government to pay 30,000 rupees compensation for cattle deaths, 10,000 rupees for calf deaths. 25,000/- for damage to the well-tube well. A compensation of 60 rupees will also be given for the loss of poultry.''
