At the military base in Dehradun, CM Dhami laid flowers at General Rawat's statue, commemorating his legacy and service to the nation.

The statue, located at Kanak Chowk, was unveiled by CM Dhami in April. A memorial site honoring CDS General Rawat has been meticulously crafted by the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority, reflecting a dedication that amounted to approximately Rs 50 lakhs in expenses.

General Rawat, an esteemed figure decorated with accolades such as PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, ADC, held pivotal roles, including his command of the 19 Infantry Division in 2012. His illustrious career encompassed significant leadership as the former General Officer Commanding.

Tragically, General Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and 11 others met an untimely demise in a devastating Mi-17 helicopter crash in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu, on December 8, 2021. Today's homage stands as a testament to his indelible mark on the nation's history and his sacrifice in service to the country.
