Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has pledged to make his state drug-free by the year 2025. In order to realize the resolution, the police are taking action against persons involved in the illegal drug trade across the state. At the same time, Udham Singh Nagar SSP Dr. Manjunath TC is also taking action by running a campaign to make the city drug-free.
At the same time, Baldev Singh alias Kale, the operator of Khalsa Dhaba in the Pulbhatta police station area of Udham Singh Nagar, has been sent to jail for smuggling smack. The police have registered a case against him under the NDPS Act and sent him to jail. Thereafter, the police conducted an inspection of the criminal's dhaba. It was found that some part of the dhaba has been built by illegal encroachment on NH land. On the encroached land, the police used bulldozers and destroyed the construction. Pulbhatta police station SO Kamlesh Bhatt said, "Smack smuggler Baldev Singh had been smuggling in the area for a long time. On receiving the news of the case, a case was registered against Baldev under the NDPS Act, and sent to jail. During the investigation, it was found that Baldev's dhaba is on government land in some parts of NH. It has been marked and demolished with bulldozers."
