In a press release, the Aizawl Battalion of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles organised a Cleanliness Drive at Company Operating Bases (COB), New Vaikhawtlang, Kawlbem, and Ngopa in Mizoram on Friday under the auspices of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East).
In total, 35 Assam Rifles men and 13 locals took part in the drive. "Clean India" was Mahatma Gandhiji's ambition, and he once stated, "Cleanliness is more vital than Independence." The goal of this entire initiative was to raise awareness about personal and public cleanliness. The goal was also to instil a sense of patriotism among the region's youth and to teach them about Mahatma Gandhi's ideal. Another news release said that the Serchhip Battalion of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the auspices of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), held an Awareness Lecture on Alcohol and Drug Abuse on Friday in Zokhawthar with the theme of promoting a "Healthy Mind and Body."
The aim of the talk was to inform the people about the negative consequences of drug and alcohol abuse in whatever form. The negative effects of alcohol and recreational drug misuse on one's health were also mentioned. Long-term diseases and the consequences of family troubles were thoroughly described to offer them a glimpse into the future. The youngsters were exhorted to keep healthy by resisting, refraining from, and recovering from drug and alcohol use. The local head of Zokhawthar village praised the Assam Rifles' efforts to encourage youths and villagers to live a healthy lifestyle and pledged to keep the campaign going.
