Mt. Abu: The campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is showing the impact of Muhim in many parts of the country. The cleaning work of the Nikki Lake at Mount Abu, the famous hill station in Rajasthan, began on Sunday. During the cleanup operation, city dwellers and military forces donated labour to collect the waste lying on the banks of the lake.

It may be mentioned that plastic and glass bottles, including garbage, were seen scattered on the banks of the lake for quite some time in the naturally contained Nakkarlake in diameter of two-and-a-half km. The cleaning work was jointly undertaken by the local people and CRPF personnel. A large number of CRPF personnel were present during the operation. The CRPF personnel took the responsibility of cleaning the marshy part of the lake governor jetty.

This locality of Rajasthan is known for its famous hill station as well as natural scenery. Tourists visiting the place dump garbage near the lake after a visit. This also increases pollution here. After winning the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, PM Narendra Modi launched the cleanliness drive as a campaign. He started it from Varanasi.
