Uttar Pradesh: Twenty-three people were hurt, including a lady, in a brawl in a village here over an old political rivalry between two factions, according to authorities.
According to SHO Shyambir Singh, the clash occurred following a confrontation between Khuhanjapura village Head Nasir and his old opponent Irfan in the Jhinjhana police station area on Wednesday.
The intense verbal sparring quickly devolved into a brawl between rival factions, with weapons, stones, bricks, and lathis being freely utilised, according to the SHO.
He said a case was filed in Jhinjhana police station under several sections of the IPC, including section 307, and that 15 people had been arrested as a result of the investigation. Jolo Begum, Nasir, Irfan, Hashim, Haroon, Aslem, Shabir, Abid, Kurban, Israil, Zabir, and others were among the 23 injured.
Meanwhile, after the clash, security in the Khuhanjapura village has been increased, according to authorities.
