The weather outlook from the IMD indicated a day characterized by mainly clear skies and cold conditions. Earlier projections hinted at the possibility of dense fog persisting from January 22 to 27, impacting the normal operations of trains. Reports indicated delays of up to four hours for 11 trains bound for Delhi due to the foggy conditions.
In conjunction with the temperature and weather developments, the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 358 at 9 am came under the 'very poor' category as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
