Dehradun: A group of devotees left for Kedarnath today at 8 am on Saturday (April 29) for the ongoing Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand. There are a total of 4315 devotees in this batch that left from Sonprayag. A total of more than 1.66 lakh passengers have registered themselves for this journey. These pilgrims will also visit Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham.
Out of these, about 61 thousand pilgrims have also marked their presence in Kedarnath Dham. This situation is at a time when challenges of continuous weather are coming to the fore in Uttarakhand. There has been heavy snowfall in Badrinath and Kedarnath for several days. According to the government machinery monitoring the Char Dham Yatra, the enthusiasm of the devotees is not decreasing even after continuous rain and snowfall from Kedar Valley to Gangotri.
The situation is that the department's website is still getting tremendous traffic for the yatra. Due to full booking till 7th May, new booking has been stopped. In this episode, the department has informed that till now 3070 pilgrims have used heli service to reach Kedar Dham. While 44 thousand devotees Yamunotri Dham, 46 thousand devotees Gangotri Dham and 16 thousand pilgrims have marked attendance in Badridham.
