Dehradun: Uttrakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on February 21 held a meeting at the secretariat in connection with the preparations for the Chardham Yatra. He said that disaster management control room will be set up and a BRO team has been deployed in subsidence-hit Joshimath to ensure smooth conduct of the pilgrimage to Badrinath.
At the meeting, CM Dhami gave the relevant departments the go-ahead to see if Joshimath's roads have any cracks or other issues. To address cracks or any other issues that arise on the roads as quickly as possible, a crew of BRO would frequently remain in Joshimath. Also, Joshimath will build up a control room for disaster management "he said.
"Devotees are urged to support local businesses by purchasing their wares, and temples close to the Char Dham Yatra routes are heavily advertised. We are putting our all towards running a well-organized Char Dham Yatra "Dhami said. "The Public Works Department had been told to make the Public Works Department's roadways 100% pothole-free, yet reports of potholes are still being received at many areas," the Chief Minister said.
"In order to eliminate potholes and enhance the roads, the Senior Secretary of the Public Works Department will evaluate the roads every week with representatives of the District Magistrates and the Public Works Department. This review will continue until the District Magistrates report that the Public Works Department's roads are completely free of potholes and have improved "Dhami oversaw.
CM emphasized the security of the followers and added, "For devotees, the Char Dhams of Uttarakhand are important sites of religious devotion. It is our collective duty to ensure that everyone's pilgrimage is secure and easy ". "When identifying such shortcomings that were left in last year's Chardham Yatra, all the responsible departments should give special attention to what better amenities may be provided to the devotees this time," he said.
CM instructed the representatives, "The parking of cars on the Char Dham Yatra routes needs to be properly planned. Moreover, provisions should be established for the drivers to take a break in the parking lots. Cleaning should get special attention during the Chardham Yatra. Also, there should be full preparations made for cleanliness along the pedestrian pathways ".
"At all gas stations, it should be verified that drinking water and restrooms are arranged properly. On the required travel routes, complete plans should be established for signage and collision barriers "he said.
The costs for better Chardham Yatra arrangements will be fully planned out, but the calibre of the work will not be compromised. It is important to finish all necessary preparations for the Chardham Yatra on time, including vehicle fitness inspections, he said.
On Chardham Yatra routes, it is important to maintain seamless arrangements for sanitation, drinking water, and other necessities. Complete arrangements should be prepared for the team of veterinarians from the Animal Husbandry Department, in addition to providing hot water for horses and mules on the Chardham Yatra walking paths. For smoother operation, the Chief Minister also ordered the officials to visit the site before the yatra began.
"Before the Chardham Yatra starts, the officials should visit the area and constantly check on the construction to ensure smooth functioning. In order for devotees to visit these religious sites in addition to the Char Dham Yatra, it is important to popularise the temples and other religious sites nearby the Char Dham Yatra routes "Dhami said.
"In order to support local products, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged his followers to spend 5% of their travel expenses on buying local goods. So that local goods can be promoted in Chardham, efforts should be taken in this regard. During the Chardham Yatra, millet-based products should also be promoted "the CM said.
