Dehradun: A painful news of a road accident has come to the fore from Champawat district of Uttarakhand, wherein 3 villagers were killed, while two people were injured. The accident occured on Sunday afternoon near Dudhori, 34 km from the district headquarters. It is said that all the three deceased are local residents. On receiving the information, the police and health department team reached the spot. The injured have been admitted to hospital.
According to the information received so far, the Alto car UK05A7660 going from Amodi towards Khatauli village crashed due to brake failure four km ahead of Amodi and fell into a deep gorge about 500 meters from the road. In the accident, 50-year-old Shankar Singh, resident of Dolakanda, 39-year-old Jagdish Singh, resident of Khatauli, 60-year-old Jagat Singh, resident of Ladabora, died on the spot in the accident.
After this, the nearby villagers started relief work. Car owner and driver Rajendra Singh and another were injured in the incident. The injured are being taken out of the ditch and taken to the hospital. It is being told that the accident happened around quarter to four in the afternoon.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today expressed his condolences over the death of three people in a road accident. Taking to Twitter, Dhami wrote, "Very sad news was received about the death of 3 people and injuries to 2 people in a road accident near Dudhori area of Champawat. May God give peace to the souls of the departed."The concerned authorities have been directed to better treat the injured in the accident," he further said.
