There has been a new turn in the politics of Jharkhand when the current Chief Minister Hemant Soren's uncle and former minister Champai Soren has taken a rebellious stance and indicated separation from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). Champai Soren has written a long post on the social media platform X and mentioned the humiliating behavior with him.

Public service and the fight for the rights of the tribals

In his post, Champai Soren talked about his public life and the beginning of politics. He wrote, "From raising the voice of workers against industrial houses in the beginning of my public life to the Jharkhand movement, I have always done politics of public concern. I have been trying to get the rights of the tribals, natives, poor, laborers, students and backward class people of the state."

He also said that whether he held any post or not, he always kept himself available to the public and raised their issues. His aim has always been to realise the dream of a better future for the people of Jharkhand.

Vow to serve after coming to power

Champai Soren further wrote in his post, "When I got power, I took a pledge to serve the state by paying homage to heroes like Baba Tilka Manjhi, Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Sido-Kanhu. Every child of Jharkhand knows that during my tenure, I never did anything wrong to anyone, nor allowed anything to happen."

hurt by cancellation of programs

Referring to the humiliating behaviour with him, Champai Soren said that the next day after Hul Diwas, he came to know that all his programmes for the next two days have been postponed by the party leadership. Among these, one was a public programme in Dumka and the other was to distribute appointment letters to PGT teachers.

When he asked about it, he was told that the coalition has called a meeting of the legislative party on July 3 and till then he cannot attend any program. Champai Soren was deeply hurt by this incident and he considered it against his honor.

Signs of separation from JMM

After this post of Champai Soren, there is a discussion in the political circles that he may soon leave JMM and join some other party. However, he has not made any official announcement about this yet.

This rebellious stance of Champai Soren can bring a new turn in the politics of Jharkhand. If he separates from JMM, it can also affect the position of the party.
