Dehradun, Uttarakhand – August 26, 2023 – The central government has approved the allocation of an additional 33,558 houses to Uttarakhand in the fiscal year 2023-24, as part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) or PMAY-G scheme. This significant development was confirmed through an official statement released by the Chief Minister's Office on Saturday.
Expressing profound gratitude on behalf of the state's residents, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh for their decision to enhance public welfare. The statement highlighted the positive impact that this allocation of houses will have on the lives of many in the state.
Simultaneously, Chief Minister Dhami celebrated another accomplishment – the recognition bestowed upon the State's Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA) with the prestigious National e-Governance Award. Notably, the Director of ITDA and other commendable officers were also honored with this award.
Emphasizing the significance of this achievement, Chief Minister Dhami remarked, "The national recognition of our Apni Sarkar e-portal, the state government's digital platform, is a matter of immense pride for all of us." He further pointed out that the award will serve as a catalyst, propelling the state's e-governance initiatives to new heights.
This announcement aligns with the central government's ongoing commitment to promoting affordable housing and digital governance across the nation. The allotment of additional houses through the PMAY-G scheme is poised to improve the quality of life for numerous families in Uttarakhand, while the recognition of the ITDA reaffirms the state's dedication to harnessing technology for effective governance.
As Uttarakhand marches forward with these dual achievements, the residents anticipate positive changes on both the housing and digital fronts, marking a stride towards a more prosperous future.
