NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other leaders extended their heartfelt wishes to the nation as India celebrated the 75th anniversary of 'Constitution Day' on Tuesday.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, "Happy Constitution Day to all countrymen on the auspicious occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. #75YearsOfConstitution"

Home Minister Amit Shah also shared his greetings, emphasizing that the Constitution is a guiding force for national unity and justice. He said, "Heartiest greetings on 'Constitution Day'. Today, India is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Constitution with great enthusiasm. To honor the contribution of all the architects of the Constitution, including Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, Modi ji initiated the celebration of 'Constitution Day.' The strength of India's democracy lies in our Constitution, which ensures justice and equal rights to every individual. The Constitution is not just a document to be displayed, but a key to contributing to public life with dedication. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Puri, joined in the celebrations, highlighting the significance of November 26 as Constitution Day. He pointed out that this declaration has increased public awareness about the Constitution's ideals. He said, "Greetings to fellow citizens on the historic occasion of #75YearsOfConstitution! On 26 November 1949, we adopted the world's longest-written constitution, uniting our diverse nation. Over the past decade, the principles of the Constitution have shaped transformative governance under PM Modi's leadership. Initiatives like the abrogation of Article 370 have realized the vision of One Nation, One Constitution. Recognizing this day as #ConstitutionDay has deepened public engagement, and efforts like Panchteerth honor the enduring legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar."

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, paid tribute to the Constitution and its architects on this significant day. He acknowledged the Constitution as the core of India's democracy and praised Ambedkar and other freedom fighters for creating a forward-thinking Constitution. He posted, "The Indian Constitution is the soul of our democracy. On the occasion of Constitution Day, I salute Babasaheb Ambedkar ji and all the patriots who gave the country a progressive constitution. Heartiest wishes to everyone on Indian Constitution Day and National Law Day."

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel added his voice to the celebrations, saying, "Happy National Constitution Day to all the citizens of the state! On the occasion of the world's largest democracy #75YearsOfConstitution, let us commit to the vision of 'Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat - Evolved Bharat' by upholding the constitutional values and ideals."
